WBSD Early Childhood & Enrichment

Your child will learn about design, composition and illustration using unique step-by-step drawing methods. Classes will strengthen their drawing and coloring skills. Limited space to allow for teacher/student ratio. Maximum number of students is 12. Each four week class has different drawing lessons.

Calling all 6-8th Graders! Does your child enjoy the challenge of story problems and critical thinking exercises? Do they have a passion for math and an interest in competing at a National Level Math Competition? Meetings will be every Saturday, starting September 28, 2024, from 1:30-3 p.m. through February 22, 2025 at West Bloomfield Middle School iCenter. The focus of the program is to apply concepts learned in elementary and middle school to advanced problem solving for real world applications. Students will use mental math, problem-solving strategies and develop critical thinking skills. Students will be required to complete some homework after each class. We are looking for parent volunteers to help with the Math Counts journey, please indicate on the Google Form if you’re available to help out. The program is open to all WBMS students. There will be a fee of $65 to participate. Additional information is at www.mathcounts.org No discounts on registration.

Math Pentathlon teaches and reinforces basic math concepts and skills, stimulates creative thinking, develops problem-solving skills, develops spatial computational and logical reasoning and good sportsmanship. Math Pentathlon consists of 20 games spread through 4 divisions by grade level. Parents: A completed iChat form and a copy of your driver's license needs to uploaded here. Friendly competition is at the heart of Middle School Robotics, as teams of 6th-8th grade students engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering - building and programming a human controlled robot that competes in an alliance format at competitions.
